HEY, I’M ASHLEY
I’m a photographer and visual artist, and my creative journey began in 2005 as a painter, long before I ever picked up a camera.
After earning my B.S. in Journalism & Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Production from North Carolina A&T State University, I spent seven years working behind the scenes in television production at NBC 17.
Then, somewhere along the way, I picked up a camera.
I began photographing things I wanted to paint, posted one of those images on social media, and soon, people began asking me to photograph them, too. The requests kept coming, and before I knew it, photography had become a business, and I didn’t have much time left to paint.
I opened my first studio in February 2014. More than a decade later, that little beginning has grown into a beautiful, larger studio designed with the comfort and luxury of my clients in mind.
From weddings and families to entrepreneurs, executives, Duke University staff, graduates, birthdays, and life’s many milestones, I’m grateful for every opportunity to create beautiful images for the people who trust me with their memories.
Many years later, I found my way back to painting during the world shut down in 2020.
You could say I slipped and fell into photography...and I’m mighty glad I did.

MY SPECIAL SAUCE?
I know how to make people comfortable.
I'll help plan it.
I’ll tell you where to stand.
I'll fix your hair.
I’m your creative director.
I’ll keep an eye out for details.
I'll make you laugh.
I'll hype you up.
WHY I DO THIS ?
My favorite moment happens before I ever press the shutter button.
It’s the moment someone begins to relax.
The shoulders come down.
The real smile appears.
They stop worrying about the camera, suddenly, there they are.
Beautiful photographs are always the goal, but the experience and the finish product is what makes them yours.
